I have been hand-coloring photos for ages. I wanted to merge my abstract painting style with my photography, so I set up a macro photography session with flowers, printed the photographs onto canvas in my studio, and then painted the canvas. This is the first completed work from the series and quite possibly my favorite. I love the blue and the subtle shimmer from the mica and pigment that I used.
